I figured that, for this post, I'd take a little break from showcasing all the wonderful DIY + food ideas that the internet has to offer and share one of my own with everyone!
Saturday was my dear Mom's birthday which, of course, meant cake, presents, and a perfect opportunity to put my DIY desires to good use! Using stuff that I already had, I fashioned a pretty polka dot bunting banner for her white cake with chocolate frosting.
It's extremely simple to make for anyone who wants to give it a go: Start by taping a piece of twine to a single paper straw and then take equal sized pieces of tape and fold them over the piece of twine, spaced evenly apart. Once the pieces are in place, cut them into triangle shapes. Tape the twine to the second straw + stick the two straws to the top of your cake. It was incredibly simple.
