I was so honoured to style my sister's baby shower this past weekend. My second eldest sister is expecting her first baby, a boy, at the end of March. Obviously, I'm ecstatic, and with already two nephews and a niece I can't wait to start some sort of group - either musically or sports like. Maybe like the von Trapps?
I was instantly so inspired to put together something fun and colourful to help her celebrate her new bundle o' love! I chose to keep to a very orange and soft blue palette. All the cards, tags, and straw flags were made by me (soon to be available for purchase) with a biplane/cloud/airline theme.
As a party favour, we gave each guest a small pillow box filled with orange and blue jellybeans with a personal thank you note from the mother-to-be on each.
I wanted to keep the food as simple as possible, so we opted for a fun selection of cookies, homemade Snicker bars, donuts, and cupcakes and a fruit bar with yogurt and homemade chocolate cups. To drink, guests enjoyed lemonade with orange slices! As a few extra treats, we had a cheese popcorn, tangerines, and jellybeans, all keeping with the colour scheme of course.
And finally, no party is complete without an appropriately designed cake!
